Does this affect all patients?
No, only those with Aetna, Guardian and Metlife Dental plans. Please disregard this message if you have a plan provider other than these.
What does this mean for me?
Starting on the above effective date, your co-payment will be calculated using the Out-Of-Network provider rules. For example, if you previously received 100% for regular cleanings, then starting on the effective date you might (or might not) instead be required to pay 20% for your portion.
Every plan is unique, so unfortunately this first email is not the place for us to spell out exactly how your specific plan will change. We are developing some content and examples for you in the near future, so please keep an eye out for that email!
Grace Period
If you have received a quote or predetermination on dental treatment, we will continue to honor those copays 1 additional full month beyond the respective contract end date listed above.
I've been coming to you forever - so that's it?
We really hope not! One of the advantages of ending our insurance contracts, is no longer being bound to those contracted fees. We will finally be more able to apply discounts as needed, developing a system for students, referrals, loyalty, etc.
